Key business leaders in the mid-west region came out in support of the eighth annual UL President's Gala Dinner, which was held in Dromoland Castle on Friday, May 13th. Organised by the University of Limerick Foundation, the theme of the dinner supported Limerick as "European City of Sport 2011" and was centred around the inclusive nature of sport. Clinical Therapies Experts from Ireland and the UK come together at UL to Collaborate on Rehabilitation Research. The 7th annual conference of the Rehabilitation and Therapy Research Society (RTRS) took place at the University of Limerick today under the title 'Developing Clinical Research Partnerships'.
The facility in Clonmel provides teaching and education space for medical students on placement at South Tipperary General Hospital (STGH), one of UL Medical School's five affiliated teaching sites. Currently, there are eight UL students based at STGH at any given time and the expectation is that this number will increase as student numbers grow.
Graduates of St. Patrick's College, Thurles, Co Tipperary will, from 2012, receive teaching degrees from the University of Limerick. The Third Level teacher education college announced an academic alliance with the University of Limerick (UL) today May 4th, 2011.
