MSO Supports / How to apply

We are thinking of you even before you arrive on campus as a mature student! We have your needs in mind when we organise our Open Evening for adult learners. This is an ideal opportunity for you to access information on the courses and supports available, in a welcoming atmosphere. Click on 'Noticeboard' for the time and date of this event.

How to apply to UL as a mature student

Mature students must be at least 23 by 1st January in the year of application.  Applications for undergraduate degree programmes are made directly to the Admissions office at the University of Limerick.  The deadline for applications is 1st May.  There is one exception - mature students applying for Nursing degrees must apply through the CAO Office by 1st February.  There is no late application through CAO for mature students wishing to study Nursing. MSO Supports

When you have been accepted on a University of Limerick undergraduate course the Mature Student Office will support you by hosting a special Induction Programme for incoming undergraduate mature students. Through participation in this special programme you are afforded an opportunity to meet fellow students who will become invaluable social supports throughout the year. As a mature student you are also offered information on the range of supports available, an opportunity to meet the support personnel who will be working with you and an introduction to key learning skills. Undergraduate students may avail of a number of supports during the academic year, for example:

 

  • Study and Writing Skills sessions
  • Essay Writing Techniques
  • Tuition from the Maths Learning Centre
  • Tuition from the Science Learning Centre
  • Tuition from the Information and Communication Technology Learning Centre
  • Career Guidance, information on career opportunities available from the following link http://www.ul.ie/careers/yourdegree
