The Access to University Course is a full-time 13 week programme which coincides with the University of Limerick's Spring Semester. The course will run from 23rd January 2012 to 27th April 2012. THERE IS NO COURSE FEE. Even better, the Access Office will provide students with some financial and personal support.
The programme will give students academic and social skills to enable them to succeed at UL. Students will also study a module from the degree they hope to start in the Autumn. An exemption in this module may be granted to the student towards their degree.
Applications are invited from those who:
1. are under the age of 23 years on 1st January 2012
and
2. could be eligible for the Local Authority Maintenance Grant
and
3. are not already studying at a University or Institute of Technology
and
4. have completed their Leaving Certificate and have achieved the minimum entry requirements for UL, which are C3 in two Higher Level subjects and D3 in four Ordinary or Higher Level subjects (including Maths, Irish or another language and English). Applicants must also have the specific subject requirement(s) for the Programme which they are interested in pursuing in September 2012.
Applicants will be assessed on a range of indicators relating to their financial, social and cultural circumstances. Detailed information on these indicators can be found as part of our other entry route, the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR), on www.accesscollege.ie
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE WILL GUARANTEE ENTRY TO A FULL-TIME PROGRAMME IN UL IN SEPTEMBER 2012.
HOW TO APPLY?

2. Provide financial documentation on family income and return by Friday 25th November 2011
3. Be available for interview in December 2011
