NOTICE re A(H1N1) Flu Virus
Dear Student
In light of the recently reported increase in numbers with the H1N1 flu virus the University has a Response Team in place and a Crisis Management Plan so as to ensure continuity of its business as much as possible, in the event of a widespread outbreak across the University campus community.
The University is guided in its response and in all aspects of this plan by the HSE.
Term starts for all returning students on January 24th, 2011.
In the event that you feel unwell with flu-like symptoms e.g. Fever, Sore throat, Cough, Runny nose, Chills, Headache and body aches) the University urges you NOT to return to college until such time as you feel well again.
Close contact with others (house mates, fellow students and staff) will spread the flu virus which must be avoided at all costs. The advice is to stay at home and seek medical advice by telephoning your doctor. You may also call the UL Student Health Centre (061- 202534) to alert them of your non-attendance as a result of suspected flu.
