How do I Apply?

Prospective students fall into 2 categories when applying for our undergraduate programmes. Applications can be made through the Central Applications Office (CAO) or directly to the Undergraduate Admission Office and in some instances students can apply using both routes should they meet the criteria. Application procedures and deadlines vary, depending on the type of applicant and the stage at which you wish to enter. Full details of the application process are available on the CAO website www.cao.ie  

CAO 

School Leavers - People applying with their Leaving Certificate results 

Mature Nursing - LM151 General Nursing, LM153 Mental Health Nursing, LM155 Intellectual Disability Nursing, LM157 Midwifery (All Restricted)  

Graduate Entry to Medicine - (CAO Code LM101) 

GCE A Levels - People applying with their GCE results 

FETAC- Nursing/Midwifery programmes 

HEAR - The Higher Education Access Route 

DARE - Disability services

 

 DIRECT

Mature (with exception of the Nursing programmes) - At least 23 years of age on the 1st of January of year of Registration. 

Graduate Entry into Law - The LLB (Graduate Entry) is a two-year, full-time programme  

Transfer - Students wishing to transfer from other third level institutions.  

Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL is an assessment process to determine the extent of the achievement of an applicant of the learning outcomes, competency, or standards for entry into and partial completion of a programme of study. The prior learning may have been acquired by formal, non-formal or informal routes. 

Re-admission - Applicants who were previously registered students at UL and are now are seeking re-admission.

International (Non-EU) Students - All Non EU students must apply through the Internationl Education Office.
