Answer:
Yes. Foundation Mathematics is acceptable in fulfilling minimum entry requirements but with the exception of Nursing programmes. Foundation Mathematics is not reckonable for point's purposes.

Can subject presented from LCVP (Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) be used to satisfy the minimum requirements?
Answer:
No. The LCVP modules may be used for scoring purposes only. These are scored as follows: Distinction 70; Merit 50; Pass 30.

Answer:
No. This has been discontinued as a requirement since 2006.

For students studying Psychology on LM032 BA Joint Honours, are places on Psychology limited?
Answer:
Yes, places are limited to 20. However, this has not been an issue for the intake in 2007/08 where there are 14 students studying Psychology. If there are more than 20 wishing to take Psychology, this will be decided on grades.

Can I transfer to Law and European Studies from another Law degree?
Answer:
As there is a European Language taught on LM042, Law & European Studies, and students applying to transfer would also need to have taken French/German/Spanish as part of their degree.

Can students repeating Leaving Certificate subjects combine scores from different years?
Answer:
No. Entry requirements can be taken from any number of Leaving Certificates but only the best six subjects in any one year can be used for scoring purposes.

In making an application for the Architecture degree, will the Portfolio add to my points score?
Answer:
No. The Portfolio/Statement results are on a Pass/Fail basis and eligible candidates are then assessed on their Leaving Certificate and compete on their points score but there are no additional points added.

Am I required to have Irish to go to UL?
Answer:
Irish is not part of the minimum requirements. The language requirement is 'Irish or another language and English'. Therefore Irish may be used to satisfy the second language requirement instead of French/German/Spanish etc.

Is the subject Home Economics accepted as one of the science subjects needed for for the Science degree's?
Answer:
No, Home Economics is not an acceptable Science subject. Please refer to each courses specific subject requirements for a list of acceptable science subjects.
