The Research Office is pleased to announce the launch of the new UL Research Information System to replace the previous InfoEd/RISS system for storing research output and publication details. The new system, supplied by Vidatum and already in operation in UCD, UCC and NUI Galway, offers considerable advantages over the previous system including:
* Automatic download of new publications from ISI/Web of Knowledge
* Link to UL Institutional Repository for easy upload of full-text records to UL IR
* Academic profiles on system will automatically feed department websites
* CV creation
* Departments/Institutes can run their own reports
The system is web-based and is available on campus at http://ulris.ul.ie/live, users log on to the system using their UL email address and password.
To access the system from off campus, follow the instructions at: http://www3.ul.ie/secure/remotelogin.doc to install the fortinet client and then connect to the UL network via this client. Once you have connected, you then browse to http://ulris.ul.ie/live using your browser (Internet Explorer) and log In with your e-mail address and password.
Details of training throughout August & September can be found below, support and general queries on the system can be sent to Richard Cotterell or to ulris@ul.ie. Click here to access the Research Information System User Guide.
There is a brief video available online which shows you how to claim your ISI publications ISI_Claiming, other videos detailing the other aspects of the system will be available shortly.
