A reception in honour of the achievements of the University of Limerick Rowing Club was recently held at Plassey House, UL. UL Rowing club has made history by becoming the first club to win all the men's intermediate sweep rowing events at the recent Irish National Rowing Championships. UL President, Don Barry congratulated the club in saying; "All your hard work, all those cold early mornings have paid off and it is wonderful to see this committed team reach such success."
The Club brought home trophies in the Men's Intermediate 8+ and 4+ events at the National Championships. In September, Stephen Penny and Liam Rice won the Men's Intermediate 2- and Alice O'Suillvan become the first member of ULRC to win two senior events.
Representatives of Rowing Ireland, Martin Corcoran, CEO and Anthony Dooley, President and Conor Dooley representing the Paddy Dooley Scholarship programme were also present to congratulate the teams.
