UL Rowing Club History made at National Championships

University of Limerick Rowing Club (ULRC) were put to the test recently at the Irish National Rowing Championships, Inniscara, Co. Cork bringing home wins in the Men's Inter 8+, 4+ and Women's Senior 8+.  ULRC fielded boats in the Men's Inter 4+, Inter 8+, Senior 8+ and Women's Inter 4+, and a UL rower in a composite Women's senior 4- and Women's Senior 8+. The Men's squad is comprised of Andrew Hurley (Sports Science '10), James Brinn, Liam Rice (Mech. Eng. '11), Stephen Penny (Sports Science '12), David Meehan, Brian O'Connor (UL Alumni), Conor Doorley (Sports Science '13), Paul Noonan (Comp. Eng. '10) and Damien Penkert (UL Alumni).  The Women's squad is comprised of Rachel Meehan (UL Alumni), Emma Ryan (UL Alumni), Alice O'Sullivan (UL Alumni), Liz Gabbett (UL Alumni) and Laura Purdy (Lecturer at UL). This marks the first year of ULRC under new Head Coach James Mangan and ULRC has their sights set high.  ULRC has only won a Championships title once outside of the novice grade, with Cathal Moynihan (ML4- Beijing '08) and Paddy Quinn in the Inter 2- in 2005.
