Professor Mike Hinchey gives inaugural lecture

Professor Mike Hinchey

Professor Mike Hinchey on the occasion of his inaugural lecture at the University of Limerick. Professor Hinchey is the Scientific Director, Lero-The Irish Software Engineering Research Centre. The lecture was hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems. A Limerick native, Professor Hinchey worked in the US for 17 years before returning to the University of Limerick to join as Professor of Software Engineering and Scientific Director of Lero. While in the US he served as Director of the NASA Software Engineering Laboratory, located at Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, as an excepted appointment under the Clinton administration.  He was appointed as a Special Government Employee/Expert by President Bush and appointed again in 2009 by President Obama, in which capacity he continues to work with NASA.
