UL Student Awarded Kavanagh Fennell Company Law Prize


UL student, Nicola Norris from Waterford was presented with the Kavanagh Fennell Company Law prize by partner Tom Kavanagh on Thursday 4 June.  This is the first year of the award and is given to the Law and Accounting student who achieved the highest marks in their final year Company Law exams at the University of Limerick.

Presenting Nicola with the award was Tom Kavanagh from Kavanagh Fennell. Tom is one of Ireland's leading insolvency experts, having carried out many high profile assignments over the years, including many on the instructions of Ireland's major Financial Institutions, Companies and State Agencies.

Kavanagh Fennell is the largest Independent Specialist Insolvency Practice in Ireland.  The practice has three partners and thirty staff and are a member of the Begbies Global Network. They specialise in the areas of Turnaround/ Corporate Recovery, Capital Distribution Services and Forensic Accounting and have been market leaders in their field since 2004.  The practice was established in 1997 by Tom Kavanagh, Ken Fennell and David Van Dessel and has built strong relationships with Ireland's banks and finance houses, leading law firms, tax specialists.  Kavanagh Fennell has recently been awarded the title of the Best SME Recruiter for 2009 by Grad Ireland.
