The University of Limerick (UL) welcomes the launch of the Research Centre for Education and Professional Practice (RCEPP).  The centre aims to advance the well-being of children, young people and adults in Ireland through research and the dissemination of knowledge to inform policy and practice in the field of education.

The Centre also aims to raise the profile of research conducted by academics in education and professional practice within UL in the Limerick region and at a national and international level.

Led by Professor Marie Parker-Jenkins, the Centre will provide an organisational framework for the research and scholarship of staff in the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences and others who have an interest in issues of policy and practice.

The University of Limerick is the largest provider of teacher education at secondary level in Ireland, and the Centre aims to highlight and provide strategic support for research that will help prepare the next generation of teachers and professionals in areas such as health care and student counselling.
