The Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Limerick held a conference entitled "Democracy and the Right to Know" to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Freedom of Information Act in Ireland.


Aughinish Alumina Scholarship Awarded

Aughinish Alumina Bursary

Aughinish Alumina has awarded the second of three bursaries of €16,000 to UL Access student Phillip Carroll, from Portarlington Co Laois.  The company established a sponsorship agreement with UL in 2007 pledging to sponsor three science and engineering UL Access students for the full four-year duration of their degree totalling to 16,000 per student.


Holmes O'Malley Sexton Scholarship awarded at UL

Holmes O'Malley Sexton Scholar

4th Year Law and Accounting student, Sile McHugh was presented with the Holmes O'Malley Sexton scholarshipby  Mr Justice O Higgins of the High Court at the University of Limerick. The scholarship, which is sponsored by the Limerick law firm Holmes O'Malley Sexton, is awarded on the basis of second and third year law results at UL. Mr Justice John Edward also attended the presentation, as did representatives of the University of Limerick and of Holmes O'Malley Sexton.


Work Life Balance brings Music to UL Faculty and Staff !

UL faculty and staff dined in style this Friday when the university's Irish Traditional Group - Cruinniu helped to celebrate Work Life Balance day on campus.  Cruinniu preformed a concert in the main restaurant on campus as staff were offered the services of a masseuse for a complimentary professional head and neck message.

A group of Education Journalists from India visited the University of Limerick today to meet with UL Vice President Academic and Registrar Professor Paul McCutcheon to undertake an orientation visit and receive first hand information about UL, its International education division as well as a comprehensive tour of the grounds.
