As part of the European City of Sport programme for 2011, the Irish Arts Centre in New York has generously teamed up with Shannon Development and the University of Limerick to secure this unique exhibition of Irish boxing memorabilia for Limerick City.

AIn order to bring the Public Address by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the University of Limerick (UL) to as wide an audience as possible, event organisers at UL have arranged that the entire event be streamed live across the internet to reach an even larger audience.

An Engineering and Informatics Research Day took place recently at NUI Galway which showcased research undertaken by students. This year, for the first time, the annual event was run in conjunction with the University of Limerick, as part of the Strategic Alliance between the two organisations.

At a ceremony at the University of Limerick , the region's most outstanding teachers were recognised for their excellence through the Shannon Consortium Regional Award for Excellence in Higher Education Teaching.  The recipient of this year's award is Dr David Brancaleone, Critical and Contextual Studies (Fine Art), Limerick School of Art and Design, LIT.
