Orientation & Field Trips

Orientation

All new students must attend the orientation programme that is scheduled at the beginning of each semester (see academic calendar for dates). The objectives are to give a student's eye view of the University; its physical layout, courses, administration procedures, counselling services, library, student services office and sports and recreation facilities. If you want to become familiar with the layout and the education system at the University of Limerick it is vital that you attend the orientation programme.

You can take a Virtual Tour of the UL Campus, Accommodation and Facilities here:

Field Trips

A special programme of 'off campus' activities such as field trips to places of historical and literary interest, museums, theatres etc. will be offered gratis to all Study Abroad students. For Autumn/Fall students the Study Abroad office also organise a thanksgiving dinner and all Study Abroad students are invited. This dinner is provided free of charge to Study Abroad Students and has proved to be a huge success with students in the past.

The Study Abroad Office also liaises with the International Society to promote other trips which Study Abroad students may avail of and are great value.  Occasional raffles and tickets to the theatre and/or sporting events are also offered to students via their UL student email account.
