ITD Structure

ITD is structured into the following groups:

Enterprise Solutions - Responsible for the support, development and management of Information Systems for the operational, management and executive needs of the University. Has two Teams - Business Systems Support (Vendor Management, Applications Support, Business Enhancement, Change Management, Customer Relationship Management) and Systems Integration and Information Management (Information Architecture, Project Management, Systems/Information integration). Technology Solutions - Responsible for the development and provision of appropriate desktop computing and server environments to facilitate the learning, administrative and research needs of the University.  Has two teams Technical Systems Support (Operating Systems and associated applications, Back-Ups, System Administration, Technical Infrastructure) and Systems Innovation (Technology Exploitation and Advancement, Architecture Development). (Brian Sexton, Head ).

IT Services - Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and support of the customers IT devices including personal computers, workstations, peripherals and student PC clusters the first point of contact for calls relating to the  services of ITD. (Declan Maguire, Head)

Audio Visual Services - Responsible for presentation, graphics and video production services. (IT Director)

Office Services - Responsible for printing, telephone, postal and stationary services. Support of the Telephone System is outsourced to Siemens Ltd. (Clare McCracken, Office Services Manager)

Governance, Portfolio and Quality Management - Responsible for ITD's Quality Management System , IT Goverance practices as well as  project and portfolio frameworks and methodologies. (Edel Gissane, Head)

Educational Technology - Responsible for the integration of ICT into teaching, learning and research practices within the University. (Padraig Hyland, Head)

The following function is outsourced to a company called CommNet Ltd:

Communications and Networks - Responsible for the support, development and management of the University-wide electronic communications and digital networking infrastructures.

The ITD Management Team comprises:
Clare McCracken, Brendan Lynch, Brian Sexton, Declan Maguire, Edel Gissane, Padraig Hyland, Director ITD.

ITD reports via its Director to the Vice President, Academic and Registrar.
