EPAS Programmes at the KBSEPAS & CIPD Accredited Course

EPAS is an international programme accreditation system operated by EFMD.  It aims to evaluate the quality of any business and/or management degree programme that has an international perspective and, where of an appropriately high quality, to accredit it.

The MBS in HRM is also fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and suitably qualified graduates may be awarded Graduate CIPD status.

In recent years, developments in both the theory and practice of management have created significant challenges and opportunities in the field of human resource management.  In some companies, employees are viewed as a resource integral to the success of the firm; this has resulted in an expanding role for the HR function.  Other firms have moved in the opposite direction, slimming down their HR departments and devolving HR activities to line management and external providers.  HR professionals have also had to respond to the challenges of new production regimes such as "world class manufacturing" and "lean production".  Beyond the firm, international developments are becoming more significant as a result of the increased pace of globalisation in the world economy.

In meeting the challenges created by these developments the KBS offers a focused postgraduate masters programme in HR management on a 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time basis which included a 4-5 day international study trip where students will explore HRM from a comparative and international perspective.

To develop among current and future personnel/human resource/industrial relations professionals:

  • a sophisticated understanding of the competitive and regulatory contexts in which organisations operate internationally;
  • a set of analytical tools and skills required to formulate human rsource policies and programmes that will respond to the exigencies imposed by these contexts;
  • a sophisticated understanding of the latest development occurring within the human resource profession, and the analytical and evaluative skills needed to assess the  applicability of these developments in differing organisational contexts;
  • an international and cross cultural mindset with the inclusion of a 4-5 day international study trip to provide students with an understand of cross cultural differences in HRM
