The Master of Business Studies in International Entrepreneurship Management has been specifically designed to meet the needs of recent graduates, graduates with work experience or owner/managers of small businesses who wish to understand how to manage and grow a small business internationally. This one-year (full-time) or two-year (part-time) programme focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of managing and growing a small business internationally. Participants will therefore explore their own entrepreneurial potential and learn in a practical manner how to develop and grow a small business internationally and will be in a position to develop an international business strategy for a small firm.
Objectives

to provide participants with an insight into the characteristics, role and functions of the entrepreneur and owner/manager that are needed to grow a small business internationally;

to provide students with an understanding of the functional disciplines of a business and how they change as the small business grows and becomes international in its focus;

to provide participants with the knowledge and competencies to develop an international business strategy for a small business;

to develop useful skills and perspectives such as creative problem solving, diagnostic skills;

communication and project management skills that are needed to grow a small business internationally.

Entrance Requirement
The nature of this programme allows for consideration of applicants from a range of disciplines. Normally, the entry requirement is a 2.2 honours degree. Applicants who do not meet the normal academic requirements may also be considered. It is expected that some applicants who have a 3rd class degree with substantial small business experience as founders or owner/managers, may wish to undertake this programme. In order to recognise applicants' prior learning (in accordance with the University's policy on the accreditation of prior learning), these candidates will be required to submit a written portfolio of business learning outcomes with accompanying testimonials. An interview will be a part of the selection process for all candidates except for overseas-based applicants. Where candidates are non-native English language speakers, certified demonstrable achievement in a Standard English Language Competency Test will be required.
