Privatisation and PPPs Research Group

The Privatisation and PPPs (P4) Research Group was established as an inter-disciplinary research group at the University of Limerick in 2003. The group consists of specialists in disciplines such as economics, industrial relations, politics and sociology. They are actively engaged in research into different aspects of privatisation, de-regulation, market liberalisation, and public private partnerships (PPPs). These include economic and social effects; distributional effects (including impact on workers, consumers, investors, communities); corporate governance aspects; management of the processes, legal aspects and project management; the values underpinning new governance structures; the legitimacy of decision makers and decisions; the accountability to citizens and organisations in different national and international settings.

Objectives

The objectives of the P4 group are to:

* Undertake theoretical and applied research,

* Facilitate postgraduate students to undertake research at a Masters or PhD level,

* Provide consultancy and guidance services to public, private and voluntary sector groups and organisations.
