Department of Nursing and Midwifery
The Department of Nursing and Midwifery was established at the University in 2003. The department is part of the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences (EHS). We are situated in the state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building, along with Clinical therapies, which includes Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy. The Department of Nursing and Midwifery is very proud of its extensive range of postgraduate programmes, which attract students from all over Ireland and beyond. Through innovative approaches to teaching and learning, we provide our students with the very best opportunities and supports to pursue their studies in order to become safe, effective, skilled and knowledgeable professional practitioners of nursing or midwifery. We strongly support the principle of equal access and encourage all students and staff to achieve their full potential within an open, liberal and facilitative environment. With staff from a range of professional and disciplinary backgrounds, the Department of Nursing and Midwifery provides a rich environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
