Dr. Joanne O'Flaherty, Department of Education & Professional Studies & Dr. Elaine Doyle, Kemmy Business School were recent recipients of funding awarded by the National Academy for Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning to support their continued research in the area of Moral Development.

4th year student Louise Lehane was awarded an IRCSET fellowship for three years to complete her PhD under the supervision of Dr. John O'Reilly in the area of Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Scientific Inquiry. 

PhD student Jennifer Hennessy made the following presentations:
 'Poetry and Pedagogy: Aspiring towards Aesthetic Teaching' The National Association for the Teaching of English Annual Conference; Making Meanings: English at the heart of learning, Leicester, 10 July 2010.

'Poetry and Pedagogy: Aspiring towards Aesthetic Teaching - An examination of the pedagogical imbalances in the cognitive and affective development of pupils', Canada International Conference on Education, Toronto, 27 May 2010.
