University of Limerick President - Professor Don Barry

President of UL

Professor Barry is a graduate of University College Cork where he graduated with a BSc in Mathematical Science and an MSc in Mathematics and Statistics. He later went on to graduate from Yale University with a PhD in Statistics.   Professor Barry's research interests include:  Bayesian Statistics; Epidemiology;  Semiparametric Estimation; Growth Curves and Applied Statistics in Medicine.

Professor Don Barry is the President of the University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland and as the Chief Executive Officer is ultimately responsible for all of the operations of the University. 

The President  of UL is supported by the Vice-President Academic and Registrar, the Vice-President Administration & Corporate Secretary, Director of Finance, Vice President Research and the Director, Human Resources.

The President is also  responsible for fundraising activities through the University of Limerick Foundation.

The President is Chairperson of Academic Council and the Executive Committee and he is a member of the University Governing Authority. The President also chairs or is a member of all Governing Authority sub-committees.
