Dress Code & Robes

Dress Code

University of Limerick graduation ceremonies are formal occasions, and we ask attending staff to dress accordingly.

  • Men should wear a smart suit, shirt and tie and plain black shoes (no boots or runners). Jackets should be buttoned when on stage.
  • Women should wear a smart dress or suit (skirt and jacket or trouser suit), and smart shoes.

Please note that denim, t-shirts, runners or flip flops should not be worn.  Tattoos should be covered.  Please do not carry personal items with you e.g. cameras, bags, umbrellas etc., as you will not be permitted to bring these with you on stage.

Robes

You can order your academic robes from Phelan Conan Ltd. by completing and submitting this online booking form, before the 13th of August 2017.

The conferring of academic awards is a ceremony of special significance for the graduands, their families and friends and staff of the University.
