Welcome to the University of Limerick Ceremonies website. Ceremonies at the University comprise three distinct types of event: graduate conferrings, honorary conferrings and inaugural lectures.
Graduate conferrings are held three times a year - in August (autumn conferrings), in January (winter conferrings) and in June (Graduate Entry Medical School conferrings). These joyous occasions represent an important transition for UL graduands who have completed their studies and are about to embark on the next phase of their lives.
The next conferring ceremony at the University of Limerick will take place at 15h30 on Tuesday 12 June 2012 for graduands of the Graduate Entry Medical School.
Honorary conferrings at the University of Limerick are held once a year. The aim of these prestigious occasions is to bestow honorary degrees on individuals who have shown outstanding achievement, nationally or internationally, in the arts, sciences, business, industry, the professions, sport, social service or public service.
Inaugural lectures at the University of Limerick are significant occasions for academic staff. They provide newly appointed professors with the opportunity to inform their colleagues, the campus community and the general public of their work to date, including current research and future plans.
